Carey Brown Letter to
POA Board Sept 27, 2025

27 September 2025

To the current Tellico Village Property Owners Association Board

As a property owner and current candidate for the POA Board, I respectfully request that the Board postpone any decision to fill the General Manager position at this time.

Selecting the right General Manager is one of the Board’s most important responsibilities. This decision will shape the relationship between the Board and the administration for years to come and will directly impact the well-being of Tellico Village. Deferring this action until the next Board is seated will allow for a robust, transparent vetting process and give residents confidence that the best possible candidate has been chosen. The current Interim General Manager, as well as any other qualified employee, would be welcome to apply during that process. A broad search for candidates, followed by a careful and deliberate selection, will greatly increase the likelihood of securing an exceptional General Manager.

I am aware of comments suggesting potential litigation if the current Interim General Manager is appointed. I strongly oppose such measures. Litigation would only divide the community, waste assessment funds, and distract from the greater good of the Village.

I believe residents will elect David Taylor, Larry Godwin, and myself in the upcoming November election. Our combined skills—working alongside the current Board—will position Tellico Village to achieve a positive and beneficial transformation. With a newly elected Board and a thoughtfully chosen General Manager, Tellico Village will be well positioned for a stronger and brighter future.

I trust that, as prudent stewards of the Village, you will choose to defer this decision and allow the newly elected Board to guide the selection of our next General Manager.

As Proverbs 29:2 reminds us, “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” May your actions reflect wisdom and the best interests of our community.

Respectfully,

Carey W. Brown
