David Taylor Letter to
POA Board Sept 26, 2025
I sent the following letter to each member of the POA Board of Directors on September 26, 2025.
– David Taylor
Dear [Board Member]:
As a Tellico Village property owner and current candidate for the POA Board, I write to express concern about recent Board actions, and to urge you to vote to change course.
The Village is currently in an uproar—rightly, in my opinion—about recent steps by the outgoing Board. Locking in $10s of millions in misguided spending . . . underhandedly filling a vacant Board seat with no notice and depriving Villagers of their say with an election a month away . . . planning to appoint a full-time General Manager with no proper search, thus undermining both the new GM and new Board by making full Board confidence in him more difficult . . . the list is long.
I believe the Board should reconsider some of its recent actions, and follow one of my Dad’s favorite sayings: measure twice, cut once.
I urge you to do that by voting against appointing a permanent GM now, and leaving that appointment to the 2026 Board.
This would rightly enable the incoming Board to take the Village in the direction that Villagers vote for in the current election.
All the best, David Taylor
