A New Step for Government
in the Sunshine

Carey Brown, David Taylor, and Larry Godwin are committed to bringing government in the sunshine to our Tellico Village POA. We are also committed to strengthening and empowering our wonderful residents who bring an amazing wealth of different experience and skills to our Advisory Committees. If you elect us to the Board, together with Mike Lackey and Joel Reed we will institute a major new step to achieve both of those goals.

Starting during the first quarter of 2026, we plan for the Board to have not just one but two open, public meetings each month. The new meeting will consist of public reports to the Board from the Chair of each of our Advisory Committees, and public discussion by Board members with the Advisory Committee Chairs concerning those reports. The AC Reports Board meeting will be televised and recorded just as the main Board meeting is. This meeting will improve the amount and quality of information available to each of you. It will also serve to inform discussion at the following monthly Town Hall, and the following and truly open regular monthly meeting of the Board.

If you elect us, we also plan to have a careful process for the Board to appoint the members and Chairs of our Advisory Committees, and to refresh and update the Charters of each Advisory Committee, as provided in our Tellico Village Covenants and By-Laws. Renewed charters, inclusion of the abundant and diverse expertise offered by our residents, and open Committee meetings and workshops featuring discussion of issues from differing points of view will make our Committees an even greater resource for our Village’s continued prosperity and success.

We invite you to vote for us in November so that this new step will bring you government in the sunshine.
